I encountered this software as "controlcenter.exe" on a CD labled "CMS Software Installation CD" not "Grizzly CMS Pro." I have not seen the name "Grizzly CMS Pro" on any of the files or the CD.

I know almost nothing about this software, but I will tell you what I do know. I recently purchased a security DVR, and inside the box was a CD labeled "CMS Software Installation CD." I believe it is supposed to the software that allows you to remotely view images from the security DVR. There were no instructions for installing the software. No help file. Nothing. The files on the CD are named as follows:

data1.cab
data1.hdr
data2.cab
DVR User Manual.pdf
ikernel.ex_
layout.bin
setup.inx
Quick Start Guide.pdf
Setup.exe
Setup.ini

Neither the Quick Start Guide nor the DVR User Manual mention anything about the "CMS" software. I tried opening the cab files to see if maybe there was a "readme" file in there somewhere, but the cab files would not open.

When I ran Setup.exe it installed two programs/utilities. One was ControlCenter.exe. I don't remember the exact name of the other program. It was "IP" something. The reason I do not remember is that I encountered multiple problems trying to run ControlCenter.exe, so I uninstalled it (uninstalling "ControlCenter.exe" uninstalled all the software, although it left entries in my registry.) and used System Restore to restore my Windows XP back to the state it was in before the installation.

Problems installing the software:
1. The first time I ran ControlCenter.exe it prompted me to setup a "System Password." So I setup a password. It just so happens that my password included a special character. The software accepted my password. Then it immediately prompted me to login to the program. When I entered the password I just created it gave me an error message stating that special characters are now allowed! Great. So.... not knowing how to remove the "System Password" I setup I decided to uninstall the software (I also removed the left-over registry entries) and then reinstall it.

2. After the second installation the software again prompted me to setup a "System Password." I chose a password that did not include any special characters. After I chose my "system password", the program prompted me to login. I logged in. The program started to load components, but when it got to "Creating user interface controls" it crashed and I got this Windows error message:

"ControlCenter has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

The 'Error signature' is:
AppName: controlcenter.exe
AppVer: 1.7.8.6
ModName: controlcenter.exe
ModVer: 1.7.8.6 Offset: 000c7ed2

3. Normally when I startup Windows it waits at the login screen for me to enter my password. When I rebooted my PC after installing this software the program/utility tried to login to my PC automatically. It failed because it did not have the password. So, now I assume that when the software prompted me to create a "System Password" it meant my Windows password! No way! On top of that, it changed the Windows XP theme style login and log off boxes to what looked like NT style boxes.

I searched the Internet for "controlcenter.exe 1.7.8.6." The only intelligible result was this web page:
www.provision-isr.com/downloads.asp
Provision is a company that sells security DVRs, but my DVR is not a Provision DVR, and I did not buy my DVR from them. I thought maybe Provision was the company that wrote the software, but after contacting the company it appears they just make the software available to their customers to use with their DVRs. I am trying to get support from the company from which I purchased the DVR, but so far they haven't been much help. All the support is by email.

When I "googled" "Grizzly CMS Pro" I came up with a Russian web site. Apparently this software is used with Panda CCTV security DVRs. My DVR looks exactly like one of the Panda CCTV DVRs, but my DVR has no name on it. Unfortunately, I could not find any documentation for this software on the Russian web site. I tried downloading a .pdf file, but, naturally, it was in Russian.

OLAutoPW is too expensive to own. You will need to get buy a new license for it each time you upgrade your computer, transfer it to another computer, change operating system or re-install. The old license is then useless. There is also very little support. After buying 5 licenses for 2 computers in my office I have given up on it. It's cheaper to just upgrade to a secondhand Office 2007.

I have used Spamfighter for a couple of years and really like it. I would highly recommend it. It does have a couple of areas that need to be tweeked but still does a fantasic job keeping most of the spam out of my inbox.
